Public Space Sculpture Project: Celebrating Virtues and Visionaries

This initiative aims to improve our communal spaces with sculptures that embody the virtues and honor public figures who have significantly impacted society and my personal outlook. Due to personal commitments, I was unable to capture a high-quality image of the project this week, resulting in a somewhat vague picture (below).

Despite this, the project's essence is to create art that resonates with viewers, sparking dialogue and reflection about the values and individuals that shape our community. Each piece is reflects the principles and legacies that are important to me and, hopefully, to the broader society. It fits with the current discourse on reassessing public sculptures of historical figures whose values may not align with contemporary standards. An example is the statue of Michiel de Ruyter in Vlissingen, reflecting a broader conversation about how we honor our past while acknowledging the complexities of historical virtues. This initiative sculptures aims to contribute to this discussion in a positive way to present possible current virtues.

Stay tuned for more detailed visuals and updates on this project as it progresses.
